Here are pictures of the students’ finished WITS posters. First, we talked about what makes an effective poster (e.g. large, clear, easy-to-read font, relevant illustration(s), clear messaging (text), spaced out/uncluttered, neatly coloured, etc.) and how we can best promote/advertise one of the WITS strategies (walk Away, Ignore, Talk it Out, Seek Help) in poster form. Next, students had to do a rough plan of their poster on blank paper and have that approved by the teacher before starting on their good copy. All of the completed posters are currently displayed on the walls in the upstairs hallway to remind all of the primary students to use their WITS! You can click on a thumbnail to enlarge it. Special congratulations go out to David, Vickie, Bichen, and Kiara, whose posters were selected from our class to be tweeted by our vice-principal to the WEJ community! Good work everyone!
