Dear Parents,
Library Visit – Beaverbrook Public Library
We will be going on a class trip to the Beaverbrook Library on Friday, March 3rd, 2023. We will be walking to the library (about a 30-minute walk). At the library, we will listen to a story being read aloud. After the presentation, the students will be given a tour of the library and an opportunity to browse and borrow books.
Library Card
Students will have the opportunity to get a public library card, if they do not already have one, or if it has expired. You will need to submit a library registration form for a new library card and return the form to us by this Friday (Feb. 24th). We will then give the completed forms to the library so they can issue the new cards to the students on our trip day. A hard copy of this form will be sent home today with your child.
Timings and Costs of the Trip
All activities undertaken on this trip will be in accordance with OPHEA guidelines. There is no cost for this field trip. We will be leaving the school at 9:30am. We should arrive at the library around 10:10am. We will be at the library for an hour. We will walk back from the library and should arrive back at the school around 11:45am. (We will have our first nutrition break back at the school at this time).
Trip Permission Form
For your child to participate in the trip you must complete an online Trip Participation Form: Form 122 — Trip Participation
Please complete this online field trip form by Thur., Mar. 2nd.
If your child does not have a completed trip participation form on the day, he or she will stay behind with another grade 3 class.
Parent Volunteers
We need parent volunteers from each class to come with us on this field trip. Are you able to help? As a parent volunteer, you will be helping supervise students during the walk to and from the library as well as while we are at the library. We would love to have you help out. Please indicate on the digital permission form that you would like to volunteer and email the class teacher if you are interested in joining us.
We are looking forward to our first outing with the students to support the language arts program that we run in class.
Kind regards,
S. Jackson and K. Ladouceur
